Getting Started

Welcome to Rank One!

Rank One is the software your school or district uses to manage athletic and fine arts activities. We're here to help you use it — but a few important things are managed by your school, not by us. Knowing which is which will usually get your issue resolved much faster.

Contact your school for these
Your school — not Rank One — makes these decisions. We can't change, speed up, or override any of the items below.
Eligibility
Whether your student is cleared to practice or play — and why they may still show ineligible — is a school decision.
Approving, denying & reviewing forms
Why a form was rejected or sent back, and how long a review takes, are all set by the school.
Your student's information
Name, date of birth, grade, sports, and allergies are managed by the school — corrections come from them.
Adding your student
Your student must be entered by the school before you can add them to your account.
School or campus assignment
If your student is showing at the wrong school or zone, the school corrects this.
Transfers & next steps
Once your part is done, the school takes it from there. They can tell you what's pending and what's next.
Rank One support cannot make or override these decisions on your school's behalf.
You can take care of these yourself
The quickest fixes for the questions we hear most.
Where to log in
Go to rankone.com/states?type=1, pick your state → district → school, then sign in. (Parents don't use app.rankone.com — that's the login for school staff.)
Trouble signing in?
If you first signed up with Google, Apple, or Facebook, use that same button — a password reset won't work for those. And your account carries over year to year, so there's no need to create a new one each season.
Don't see a required form?
Add your student's sport or activity first — forms only appear once an activity is selected. Use + Add/Remove Activities in the app, or the menu on the student's card on desktop.
Using your phone?
Some forms — such as transfer and eligibility forms — can't be completed in the mobile app. Open Rank One on a computer or web browser and sign in with the same login.
Can't find or claim your student?
Your school has to add your student (and set them active) before you can claim them. Being in another system doesn't mean they're in Rank One yet — if you can't find them, contact your school.

Good to know

Showing at the wrong campus? You can still finish your forms.
It won't stop you from completing paperwork. Once the school corrects the assignment, your completed forms move with your student's profile automatically.
Getting an "information doesn't match" message?
Double-check the Student ID and date of birth against what's on file with the school — a small mismatch there is the most common cause.
Kids in more than one district?
Use the same email address to sign in on each school's portal — you don't need a separate account for each district. Each student's forms live on their own school's portal.
Need a copy of a form?
You can download forms from your own account. Rank One can't email or pull copies for you — and anything you turned in on paper is held by your school, so reach out to them for those.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I upload / submit my student's physical form?
Physicals are uploaded through the parent portal or mobile app on the student's profile. NOTE:If there's no upload option at all, the student's district is likely a "paper" district — the form must be handed in physically at the school. If the district has disabled digital upload, turn in your form to the school, and school directly and school staff will mark the form complete.
Why is my student showing ineligible / what is their eligibility status?
Eligibility is determined and managed entirely by the school. Rank One hosts the software the school uses to track it, but we don't set or change eligibility. If you have questions about eligibility, reach out directly to your school for more information.
What if my student is assigned to the wrong school / campus / zone?
The campus a student is assigned to is controlled by the district. The School Office can correct it on their end. NOTE: the wrong campus assignment does not block form completion. You can continue with form submissions, even if your student campus assignment is incorrect.
What if I can't add my student?
A student can only be added after they have been entered into the district's Rank One account by the school If the student isn't in the district roster yet, the student cannot be added. If your student is not found in the system, reach out to your school to confirm the student ID and information is correct, and that the student has been added into the Rank One system on the school side.
How long does form approval take?
Form approval and denial are handled entirely by the school, not by Rank One. We can't provide an approval timeline or an estimate on approval. We do not have information about why a form is pending or denied. Please reach out to your school for more information.
What if I can't find or claim my student?
To claim a student, the details entered must match what the school has on file — typically the Student ID plus the student's date of birth. If it won't match, either the student isn't in the system yet, or a detail (often the birthday or SID format) doesn't match. Reach out to your district to confirm what they have on record.
Can I still submit forms if my campus assignment is wrong?
Yes, you can still complete your forms. Your school can change the campus assignment on their end without impacting your forms submission activity.
